http://Panamacity.passportheavy.com Beautiful people, rich culture, amazing weather, world-class restaurants. But a few years ago, all I knew about Panama City, Panama was the Panama Canal. I started coming here in 2010 and I haven't stopped visiting since. There is so much more to Panama than just the canal. Panama City is such an underrated spot in Central America. It rivals Miami in a lot of ways. In 2014, I saw a beautiful young woman walking her pup down the beach in Playa Venao right outside @el sitio. I had to say hello and introduce myself. Her name was Kary and unfortunately she was leaving, but we exchanged information. Side note: Playa Venao is worth a weekend! We'll drop a video soon. A few years later I am back in Panama and Kary graciously offers to show me around the city. Without hesitation, I accept, and I am able to film some amazing locations around this great city. Every time I come back to this city it's like a family reunion. I've lived in Panama City for up to six months at a time, and I've made some amazing friends there. This trip was no different. The best part - this time we were able to film. There is so much footage that we will be dropping a second Panama video on May 15. This first video is the visual vibes joint. The next will be a recap of my time in Panama with a VERY special announcement in it. Every time I come to Panama I have to link up with my boy G who owns Voltage Studios. They shoot some of the biggest commercials in the country. He laced us with some epic aerial footage for this video. Then, when I'm hungry, I know my boy Mario is always making it happen. Pretty much the godfather of dope restaurants. I'm not just saying this because he's my boy. Check TripAdvisor or the NY Times. In this video, I visited his Botanica Restaurant and simply - wow. It's in an area of the city that is reminiscent of San Francisco. I could see brunches here being off the hook. Kary also took me to Taco Le Neta Casco in Casco, and OMG some of the best tacos I've ever had in my life. I was in love with the place and I wanted to film but one of the guys in there said no. I just ate my tacos enjoyed my time and didn't argue. Then, come to find out, Mario is part owner there. I knew the best (taco emoji) couldn't be far from Mario. I could go on and on about food. Mario’s has younger proteges in the city as well. Jose at Donde Jose, #1 restaurant in the city on TripAdvisor, Chombolin at Intimo... I swear you can come track me down if you don't like the food at these places. A ferry or short 20 minute flight from Panama City is Contondora, with some of the most beautiful waters you will ever see. The island is super chill vibes. The reason I don't have a six-pack is because I love cookies and ice cream too much. I found a solution here. @keene ice cream. It's all natural ice cream made from the freshest ingredients. I'm a little sad you can only find it in Panama. JP was trying to transport a case back with us. If there is something I like to do, it's helicopter tours. Panama City is easily one of the top tours in the WORLD. Literally, within two minutes you are going from high rises and ocean views to epic jungles. It's wild to see the contrast in scenery. Our pilot was straight G. He used to fly around the ex-president of Panama. There are some things I don't mind paying a little more money for and taking a helicopter is one of those things. It's those once in a lifetime things but a lifetime memory. So we know I could keep talking about food. Hot sauce at Sista House. Afro-Panamanian food. But you can't eat all day and not workout. One of the coolest things in the city is Cinta Costera. Here you'll find people exercising day and night. They have it all there. Running paths, basketball, soccer, dance classes. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Panama. I love the city and the people. I created a PassportHeavy guide for Panama City that you can find through the link in my bio. I want to thank @Jp.isaacs for shooting and editing the video. @isiah music composer for creating a masterpiece. @Maisabelrtr for making the trip happen. Thank you Panama. Thank you to all of my friends for making it happen. Come follow the adventure on @passportheavy For more information contact us at info@passportheavy.com

Modern time wonder The Panama Canal in Panama City. Panama City is the capital of the southern state of Central America’s land bridge. This vibrant, modern city is located in a tropical country at which Panama’s isthmus is only eighty miles wide. The country's name is famous because it contains the most important waterway in the world and the development of both urban and rural areas is due to the presence of the gigantic Panama Canal. This massive and amazingly expensive project of building technology is best understood by travelling along it, a journey that takes around nine hours and changes direction twice a day. Soon we will see the monumental steel bridge of Puenta De Las Américas, the only land connection between North and South America, since the channel cuts through both continents. After travelling twelve kilometres inland the ships must negotiate the first double lock, which takes around forty five minutes. After forty kilometres, the third lock system follows, the Gatún Locks, where the ships are lowered twenty six metres. This impressive process takes an hour in three successive lock chambers, each of which is about three hundred metres long. The dream of a water connection between the Atlantic and the Pacific came true within a period of ten years. A remarkable feat of engineering and water power! -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us. Siempre estoy agradecido de ver mis videos. The idea for a Panama canal dates back to the 1513 discovery of the isthmus by Vasco Núñez de Balboa. The narrow land bridge between North and South America houses the Panama Canal, a water passage between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The earliest Central American European colonists recognized this potential, and several proposals for such a canal were made.[1] By the late nineteenth century, technological advances and commercial pressure allowed construction to begin in earnest. An initial attempt by France to build a sea-level canal failed after a great deal of excavation. This enabled the United States to complete the present canal in 1913 and open it to shipping the following year. The state of Panama was created with its 1903 emancipation from Colombia due to a US-backed revolt, so the US could control the canal-project area. French canal engineer Philippe-Jean Bunau-Varilla influenced a change in its proposed location, from Nicaragua (the original US choice) to Panama because of his concern about Nicaraguan volcanism. During the late 1890s Bunaua-Varilla convinced US lawmakers to buy the rights to build the French canal in Panama, sending each senator Nicaragua postage stamps with a smoking volcano. In 1903, Colombia (which controlled Panama) refused to allow the United States to build the canal. The people of Panama, with help from Bunaua-Varilla, then overthrew their Colombian government and became independent (which made construction of the canal possible). The Panama Canal continues to be a viable commercial venture and a vital link in world shipping. The 2007 Panama Canal expansion project began commercial operation on 26 June 2016. The new locks allow transit of larger Post-Panamax and New Panamax ships, which have a greater cargo capacity than the original locks could accommodate

These are my best tips for having a travelling adventure backpacking in Panama. That doesn’t have to mean “budget Panama,” but if you’re travelling the Gringo Trail that probably means a tight - gap year - budget, right? I cover the Gringo Trail in Panama from Bocas Del Toro, San Blas Islands, to Panama City, including hostels, public transport, partying and the most interesting sights like the Panama Canal. Or maybe you’re just looking for the best Panama beaches. This video’s not meant to be a definitive Panama travel guide, or even an exhaustive list of Panama sights, sounds or destinations. It’s just my advice if you want to travel to Panama based on my own experience. Siya and I love to try all different types of travel. So, when Transat Holidays invited us to Panama to try one of their Sun Savvy Collection, we said, "yes of course." However, resort travel doesn't mean you have to stay within the perimeter of the resort. You can get out and experience the true culture of a place by taking part in day excursions. How about you? Do you ever stay at resorts? What are your thoughts? What type of traveller do you consider yourself? The city is the political and administrative center of the country, as well as a hub for international banking and commerce.[5] It is considered a "gamma+" world city, one of three Central American cities listed in this category.[6] Panama's Tocumen International Airport, the largest and busiest airport in Central America, offers daily flights to major international destinations. Panama was chosen as the 2003 American Capital of Culture jointly with Curitiba, Brazil. It is among the top five places for retirement in the world, according to International Living magazine. The city of Panama was founded on August 15, 1519, by Spanish conquistador Pedro Arias Dávila. The city was the starting point for expeditions that conquered the Inca Empire in Peru. It was a stopover point on one of the most important trade routes in the history of the American continent, leading to the fairs of Nombre de Dios and Portobelo, through which passed most of the gold and silver that Spain took from the Americas. On January 28, 1671, the original city (see Panamá Viejo) was destroyed by a fire when privateer Henry Morgan sacked and set fire to it. The city was formally reestablished two years later on January 21, 1673, in a peninsula located 8 km (5 miles) from the original settlement. The site of the previously devastated city is still in ruins and is now a popular tourist attraction known as Panama Viejo.

Panama city tours 2016, Panama city tourism & Vacations 2016, Panama city trip 2016 Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c... Panama City is a very multicultural place, with large populations from many different parts of the world. Spanish is spoken by most, and many speak some form of English. Customer service is slowly improving, and surprisingly dismal in hotels. However, on the streets Panamanians are for the most part extremely friendly and helpful and would love to give you some advice. There's great shopping, from high-end stores in the malls around Paitilla and in the banking district around Via Espana, to veritable bargains around La Central (Central Avenue, now turned into a pedestrian walkway) and the Los Pueblos outdoor mall. You can find many ethnic stores (mostly Chinese and Indian), in certain parts of the City. See in Panama city =============== Panama Canal, An absolute must if you're in Panama City. The easiest and cheapest way is to go to the Miraflores locks, watch the huge boats go by and visit its very modern and informative visitor's center with a museum, a movie theater and a fancy restaurant (USD25 for the lunch buffet). A one way cab to Miraflores locks should cost around 6 USD. By metrobus from Albrock, every hour, for $0.25, from 6:00am to 5:00pm. Last bus leaves Miraflores at 5:00pm.You can also take a luxury train along the canal to Colón, or obviously take a boat! Prices Miraflores locks and museum: adults $15, students $10. Casco Viejo is the historic part of town, where you will find many colonial style government buildings, cathedrals and museums including a Canal Museum. It is currently under massive renovation, with crumbling shacks next to beautifully restored colonial buildings. There are a number of accommodation options in Casco ranging from hostel pricing up to very expensive colonial suites. The area hosts a large number of eclectic events ranging from operas and musicals at the national theatre to block parties and fashion catwalks in the open plazas. Casco Viejo also offers some of the finest dining options in Panama City. Panama Viejo The site of the ruins of the original city of Panama that was sacked by the pirate Henry Morgan in the 1600s. The city was later moved to Casco Viejo. Today Panama Viejo is home to one of Panama's national parks with the buildings left in unrestored states. It is well worth the visit but read the safety warnings and ask park employees about where it is safe to visit as the park is surrounded outside by one of the city's dangerous areas. Amador Causeway. The Amador Causeway connects the three islands to the mainland. From the causeway, there is a lovely view of Panama City, and the Puente de las Americas. Many Panamanians like to spend their weekends jogging, riding a bicycle or roller-blading down the causeway, or having a meal or drinks in one of the many restaurants and bars on the islands. Bikes are available to rent in many different varieties including recumbents and multi-person bicycles, starting at about $3.50 per hour. From the causeway you can also arrange day trips by ferry to one of the surrounding islands with boats leaving early in the morning. Mi Pueblitos. The pretty deserted museum (entrance free) on the slopes of Cerro Ancon showcases the different ethnicities of Panama. There are several artisans producing curios. The outdoor museum is close in proximity to El Chorrillo so be very careful about straying outside of boundaries or into unsupervised areas. Upon last visit it was not recommended to climb Cerro Ancon. Biomuseo (Biodiversity Museum: Panama Bridge of Life), Building 136, Amador Causeway Apartado 0843-02931, Panama, 830 - 6700, The Biodiversity Museum: Panama Bridge of Life (also known as Biomuseo) is located on the Amador Causeway in Panama City, Panama. It was designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. This is Gehry's first design for Latin America. Do in Panama city ============= Aerial View of the Canal, Skydive, etc., The Canal itself is best seen via an aerial view through the local operator and is the central marvel and spectacle of Panama city. Even stunt and trick flights with veteran air force pilots and skydives are available over the marvel of engineering, to appreciate the entire scale of and ambition behind it.
